Ascent Classical Academy of Irmo plans to offer grades K-8 for the 2024-2025 school year, adding a grade each year until reaching K-12.
Applications are still being accepted for the 2024-2025 school year. Registration is open May 1-31 for seated students and can be accessed through the email sent from PowerSchool. Please contact us for assistance if you did not receive this email.
Enrollment Process
- Apply: Complete submissions made through an Expression of Interest form or through PowerSchool’s Enrollment portal by 11:59 p.m. on February 23, 2024, will be considered an application and entered in the lottery. Please note: Applications received after the enrollment lottery cut off will move directly to step 4 and be placed on the waitlist in the order received.
- Lottery: An enrollment lottery is required when more applications are submitted than seats are available. The 2024 lottery will be held February 28, 2024.
- Offers: Offers will be sent out by email to the primary contact for each student application. The email will provide an expiration deadline for your offer and direct you to PowerSchool’s Enrollment portal to accept or reject the seat.
- Waitlist: Students who do not receive a seat in the enrollment lottery will be placed on a waitlist. Applications submitted after the lottery deadline will be added to the waitlist in the order received. Offers will be made continuously through the fall semester.
- Registration: Enrolled students are required to complete registration before attending Ascent Classical Academy. This process begins in late April each year.

Enrollment Lottery Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need to be re-entered into the lottery each year after they have received a seat?
No, you do not need to re-enter your student into the lottery each year if they were enrolled as a student at Ascent Classical™ during the previous academic year.
When can I complete an application for my student for Fall 2025 or beyond?
Applications for each school year will open in November of the year prior. For example, applications for the 2025-2026 academic year open in November 2024.
What is the deadline to be entered in the enrollment lottery?
All applications completed by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, will be entered in the 2024-2025 enrollment lottery.
When is the enrollment lottery for 2024-2025?
The 2024 enrollment lottery will take place on Feb. 28, 2024.
If I apply for multiple students, am I required to accept or deny seats all at once?
No. Each application may be accepted individually and is not contingent on other offers for your household.
If I accept a seat for my child at another school, will my child remain in the lottery or on the waitlist for Ascent Classical Academy?
Our enrollment system is independent of other charter schools. Your student will remain in our lottery pool or on the waitlist until you request otherwise.
Is there an enrollment priority for siblings?
Ascent Classical Academy offers placement priority to a sibling of a student who is enrolled and currently attending the school. In the opening year, sibling priority will not take effect until the enrolled sibling has attended one day or more of classes and a seat becomes available.
How will I be notified of an offer or waitlist placement?
Following the enrollment lottery, the primary contact for each student will receive an email with an offer or a notification of a waitlist placement.

What are my student’s chances of receiving a seat for 2024-2025?
In the opening year, most students who apply by mid-March will receive an offer before the beginning of the school year.
